XPS insulation board-also known as extruded polystyrene foam board-is a rigid foam plastic panel manufactured using polystyrene resin as the primary raw material, combined with various auxiliary agents and polymers.
It is produced through a specialized process involving heating, mixing, and the simultaneous injection of a catalyst, followed by continuous extrusion and molding.
XPS features a perfect closed-cell honeycomb structure; this unique configuration endows the board with a host of superior properties, making it an energy-efficient and eco-friendly insulation material.
These attributes include extremely low water absorption (it absorbs almost no water), moisture resistance, impermeability to air, lightweight construction, corrosion resistance, a low thermal conductivity coefficient, high compressive strength, and excellent aging resistance (exhibiting virtually no signs of aging or decomposition under normal usage conditions), all contributing to a long service life.
