XPS Heating Panel

XPS Heating Panel

Details
XPS underfloor heating panels, formally known as extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation boards, are specifically installed beneath underfloor heating pipes. Their primary function is to prevent heat from escaping downward, ensuring that heat is directed upward to warm the room, thereby significantly improving the energy efficiency of the underfloor heating system. Thanks to their comprehensive properties—including high thermal insulation efficiency, high compressive strength, and strong moisture resistance—XPS underfloor heating panels effectively improve the efficiency of underfloor heating systems, conserve energy, and ensure long-term, stable performance. They are a widely used insulation material in modern underfloor heating systems.

Description
Technical Parameters

1. Substrate Preparation and Pre-Construction Steps
Cleaning and Leveling: Thoroughly sweep away dust and other debris. Ensure the floor's levelness deviation is within 3 mm; any pits or protrusions should be leveled with cement mortar or sanded down.
2. Installation of XPS Insulation Boards
Installation Sequence: Begin at one corner of the room. Offset the joints between adjacent rows of boards, similar to bricklaying, to avoid continuous gaps and enhance overall stability. Boards must fit tightly together, with gaps kept within 2 mm. For unavoidable gaps, carefully seal and secure them with specialized aluminum foil tape to prevent heat loss.
3. Installing Reflective Sheeting
Lay reflective sheeting over the entire surface of the insulation boards. Edge insulation strips should be pre-installed around the perimeter of the walls to cushion against thermal expansion and contraction from the floor.
4. Installing Underfloor Heating Pipes and Pressure Testing
Lay the underfloor heating pipes in a loop or S-shape pattern on the reflective sheeting according to the design drawings. Secure them to the XPS boards with clips, using additional fasteners at bends.

Product Advantages

product-400-370

Excellent thermal insulation: The thermal conductivity of XPS boards typically ranges from 0.028 to 0.035 W/(m·K), offering far superior insulation performance compared to traditional materials.

product-400-370

High compressive strength: Since underfloor heating systems must bear the weight of the floor, furniture, and people, the high-density structure of XPS boards allows them to withstand pressures as high as 150–700 kilopascals (kPa) or even higher. They are resistant to deformation even with long-term use, thereby preventing floor cracking.

product-400-370

Excellent moisture and water resistance: Due to its closed-cell structure, XPS boards absorb almost no water and have an extremely low water absorption rate. They maintain stable thermal insulation performance even in humid environments and do not lose effectiveness due to moisture.

product-400-370

Environmental friendliness and long service life: XPS boards are chemically stable, resistant to aging and decomposition, and have a service life of 30–50 years. Additionally, they are non-toxic and odorless, posing no risk of indoor air pollution.
