Material Classification of Foamed Ceramics
Foamed ceramics, as a lightweight porous material, are mainly manufactured through a high-temperature foaming process. Based on the different raw materials, they are mainly divided into the following three material types:
Silicate-based foamed ceramics: Using quartz sand, feldspar, etc., as the main raw materials, they have good thermal insulation properties and low cost.
Alumina-based foamed ceramics: Using alumina as the main component, they have high mechanical strength and high-temperature resistance.
Composite-based foamed ceramics: Composed of multiple oxides, their specific physical and chemical properties can be customized.
Performance Characteristics of Different Materials
Each type of foamed ceramic has its unique performance advantages:
Silicate-based: Low density, low thermal conductivity, suitable for building insulation.
Alumina-based: High compressive strength, strong corrosion resistance, suitable for high-temperature industrial environments.
Composite-based: Porosity and strength can be adjusted as needed, applicable to a wide range of scenarios.
