XPS extruded polystyrene (XPS) boards exhibit good dimensional stability, typically within ±0.5%. Flammability, a measure of a material's performance in a fire, is generally classified as a B1-class fire-retardant material. Environmental performance refers to the material's impact on the environment during production, use, and disposal. Furthermore, XPS boards possess certain anti-aging properties, impact resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance, with an operating temperature range typically between -50℃ and +75℃.
Advanced manufacturing processes can produce more uniform and denser cell structures in XPS boards, thereby increasing compressive strength while reducing thermal conductivity. For example, XPS boards produced using carbon dioxide foaming processes have more uniform and finer cell structures. Using high-quality polystyrene resin raw materials results in tightly arranged and ordered molecular chains, forming a good closed-cell structure. This produces XPS boards with high compressive strength and low thermal conductivity. Conversely, using inferior raw materials or recycled materials may lead to more internal structural defects in the board, increased thermal conductivity, and decreased compressive strength.
